EDIT: Oops, looked at the wrong line, corrected some numbers.

It's already started slowing. Check out the very bottom of this page; 30 days ago we were moving up around 200 positions a day. Now it's about 30.

The credits will still count, ranking position will get harder and harder.

But we're still moving up!!!!
Slow gains as opposed to quick gains are still gains!!!

Works for me. Especially since we aren't really numbers oriented...lol
We're not? LOL!

Amazing :smt038

We just keep crunching along. Great work team.

Just went over 75,000 in Seti during my sick time.

Michael & Labbie. Seen the post. Don't seem to be having the problem now. Might have just been a minor hick-up during a back-up. Let me know.

LMAO!!! I know the feeling, my friend.

I finally got my RAC up to where I feel like I am actually making a contribution to the stats, rather than just gracing everyone with my presence.....lol

Merry Christmas to All!!!!

Post by Whit3fir3 » Wed Dec 20, 2006 8:48 pm

Hey guys...Sorry I have not been checking the forums recently, but in a format of my system about 3 weeks ago I lost the link. Tim was kind enough to email me and let me know about the milestone and send me the link to get back here again.

Anyway thankyou all for the kind words on the milestone. As my christmas gift to you guys I am working on a deal right now that will about double the processing power that I have online. In other word once I get these new 8-way boxes online and running we should hit 2,000,000 in 2 or 3 week. I should have these sytems up and going before the new year. I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks,

Whit3fir3

Glad to see you back around, we could almost double that output if you're interested in running optimized apps. There does appear to be some issues with these apps if you run SETI Beta too, but none I've seen with just S@H, except blazing crunching speeds.

And thanks again for your contribution to the team. :smt023

Dayum, dude!!! Doubling what you already have???

All I can say is....WOW!!!!

Labbie is right about the optimized apps. My RAC has gone from 30 or so, to almost 200 right now by adding one of the aps to mine.

If you don't want to run an optimized app, I am pretty sure we can live with gaining a million points every two or three weeks....lmao

I think i have ruffled a few feathers on the SETI@HOME board, with PAPPA asking "WHY I CANNOT DONATE!"

I don't think they like my answer.....

What do you guys and gals think??

Perhaps i was too direct. Kinhull was rather tactful. However it has to be said cause i think there are quite a number of people not donating because of this.....

I don't simply because I am broke...lol

But your view on it seems to be pretty accurate. There really are no progress reports as far as signals and such.

* sigh * Time for me to go to bed. It's now 5am and I haven't been to sleep since 11am yesterday. My head hurts.....lol

For one, I do donate; my computer... it's not cheap!

I have given modestly in the past and what I can afford at the time. If only 1 percent of the participants (and I'm rounding up I think), are donating they may just have an advertising problem in getting the word out. If seti goes away will it be the end of the world? I don't think so... Boinc is not dependent on seti and seti must stand on it's own two legs so to speak.

Will I give again? Probably when I can, it won't be enough to save seti if it is slated for failure and I give out of gratitued for the chance to participate not in how happy I am with its progress or the attitudes of the admins. They will change what they have to in order to survive imo meanwhile, I will do what I can to help find ET.
