Post by Labbie » Sat Nov 04, 2006 5:23 am

Got this error:
Warning: ob_start(): output handler 'ob_gzhandler' cannot be used after 'URL-Rewriter' in /home/www/calmchaosforum.org/phpBB2/includes/page_header.php on line 44
at the top of the page after logging in. Although it appears to have logged me in.

Buga, it doing that same message again for me when logging in. It also doesn't seem to be holding my login even tho' I've checked the box. But it does let me log in.

It actually logged me out once this morning. Here's the message again:
Warning: ob_start(): output handler 'ob_gzhandler' cannot be used after 'URL-Rewriter' in /home/www/calmchaosforum.org/phpBB2/includes/page_header.php on line 44

Double logon required

Post by Dances with Werewolves » Sun Nov 05, 2006 4:36 am

I am finding that I am required to logon twice at each initial session. The first places me online with my name at the bottom of the front page as active but no ability to post. I must logon a second time to be fully granted rights.

Thanks Rick.

Hay there. I did a few things. But now you must clear your browser cookies and cache, and close and restart you browser for these settings to take effect.

Whew, glad to see it's not just me. I hate it when it's just me.

But, the good news is I haven't had a problem since yesterday morning. Maybe I passed it on to DWW who passed it to KM.

Watch out TL, you'll be next!!!! :smt006 We'd hate for you to feel left out!!!

My only issue is that Time Warner is still "futzing" around... It makes Skype's connection flaky at best... I got cut off from Myron 3 Times in 2 Minutes!!! Each cutoff; I had to hard reset the Cable Modem. LOL

After 3 Months of their "futzing" one would think that they would have their #@$@#$@#$%#$%#$#@$#$ together. (Replace the rant characters with whatever you wish! I'm pissed off about this whole thing! Plus, there is NO viable alternative! Still NO standard DSL "available" in my area; nor is the new Verizon High Speed Fiber Optic DSL... So, what; am I expected to go back to Dial-up and AOL!!!??? I think not! However; Time Warner better do something to straighten their crap out or some attorney is going to "Class Action" their lazy good for little @#$%@#$@#$%#@$%.)

I have had it finally do it to me. I used a friends computer while out on my football sunday funday. lol. Settings that I did yesterday for some reason failed. I have replaced settings and verified they took. Again you will need to clear browser cookies and cache. And restart browser. I hope this has fixed the problem. Are any of the FF people having this same problem or is it just the IE folks? Sorry for the problem.

First logon at home good IE7, won't have time to see if it automatically logs me out. I will test this at work (leave it open and see if I get logged out after period of time).

Keep it up Rick, we appreciate all the effort on your part.

I haven't had an reply email from the forum since we moved. Email is correct just seems not to be sending post reply emails to me. Did I miss an anouncement somewhere?

RE: "Newest First" for Posted Messages as Default

Buga1,

What were your findings on, (now this being our 3Rd Set of Forums), getting the Posted Messages to "Default" as "Newest First" in all Threads? Anything new; is it possible, etc.?

Thanks,

DWW. Looking into it. I have noticed I am not getting any myself for either posts or PM's.

TL. There is a way of doing it. As the free ones wouldn't include it because it takes a lot of code changing. I am working on it in a test forum. Before making any changes in here I want to make sure they work. And not give us a problem. But also I am finding out from others who have done this, most there users didn't like it because they would have to scroll down anyway to find the first new post, then back up to read any more, then down for the quick reply. Once I get it going well we can give it a try though. Still working on it.

Buga, I sent you a PM today in response to yours. I did not receive an email notification that I had a PM either.

EDIT: I do have both the send notification for PM set to Yes and also the pop-up notification set to Yes in my profile.

Yep. I found the problem. Still isn't working. It was a 2fer. lol Some coding and I have the wrong settings on the server side. I am still working on it. Hopefully (and I'm sorry) I can get it going tonight. Might have to shut down the forums for an hour or 2 at some point. Just to let you know.

I have new news on the Time Warner Issues... (Well, at least for Southern California...) As of this November 28, 2006; they will finally be finished with their !@#@!#@#@#@!##@ Modifications...

They even told me that my speeds, (Download and Upload), will be "...faster than you had before." Now; back in late July and very early August, I was contracted for Dedicated Broadband, (NO TV Signal on the line), at 6MB Down and 768K Up. I routinely averaged 5.7MB Down and 858K Up... So, if I'm to get faster!!! ROCK ON!!!

I hope that this carries over to ALL of the rest of you Time Warner affected Customers. Good luck.
